Asher Fulero is not only one of the West Coast’s most reliably excellent keyboardists, he’s increasingly one of the coolest independent producers and composers going today with a reach and comfort level in everything from jazz to jam, electronica to experimental, twangy to Technicolor, and beyond. The man is simply a relentless jack of all trades; the diversity in his musical talents is astonishing. Asher Fulero is a multi-faceted threat. To call him merely a keyboard virtuoso feels like an insult to his skills as a producer, creator, and all-around artist.
katelyn convery
Bittersweet angst and optimism weave through Katelyn Convery’s music, piercing the frontier of modern alt-rock, and harkening back to the edgy era of 90s NW grunge, with textures characteristic of early 2000s indie-pop. Alluring melodies, compelling chord-changes, and perceptive, unapologetic lyrics land as a ferocious, buttery roar—explosive and soothing all at once. “As an outsider, my constant companions were my guitar and voice. I ran to songwriting to make sense of everything I was experiencing and began a relationship with music-making that continues to carry me through.”

With an undying love for music and the intimate concert experience that often gets lost in the nosebleeds of large venues. Created by local flautist & photographer, Art Heffron, Strings & Wood aims to bring concerts back to the living room—literally. Whether it rolls out in someone’s home, basement of speakeasy or some other unlikely, intimate venue, the concert series brings local and national acts together for the dual purpose of providing audiences with unique shows and providing bands with ideal performing situations. Sitting on a cozy couch while listening to an amazing local singer-songwriter at a Strings & Wood show should be on every music fan’s must-do list.
