There wasn’t a broken string or dirty mouth in the sacred mother ship Red Rock cathedral house & every hero highway boy along with 10,000 other musical spirit drifters where sitting up straight in rhythm and prose with grand conductors hand.
From begining to end Gregory and the Colorado Symphony Orchestra had us seeded in the ground and floating through the stars all at the same time. Thats the beauty of Red Rocks...you go there to photograph a show, see a few old friends and take a couple new friends on one grande adventure and in the mean time, you end up having one hell of a spiritual experience to boot.
Fom Brandi Carlise & The Lumineers to Head and the Heart, Mumford and Sons and beyond ... my heart is full of gratitude to have been photographically circling back to the red rock sandstone Rocky Mountain cathedral in the sky for the last 18 years ... the light and the ghost both have a beauty all their own, what a lovely place to once and still on a blue moon, call home.
I am even more grateful for when I get to circle back to work with Gregory Alan Isakov and my o'l Suitcase Town crew inside those echoing canyon walls. No matter when and where the venue is, there is always something healing in their soothing sonic sound.
Somewhere in the midst of the Midnight Magic, Greg brought local Denver friend and legend Nathaniel Raitliff up to share a song during the encore.
