Dreamers who do and doers who dream ... that was the vibe of last months Valentines weekend tour up the California coast with Madeline Hawthorne and Taylor Tesler, as we opened a Valentine’s weekend run for ALO’s Tour 'D Amor...along with a rare sit in by Jack Johnson.
(...it's also a wild time in the world to be touring and promoting music, but at the end of the day, music is the grande healer, truth seeker and peace maker & I love working with folks like these who make it a priority to add to the collective healing and peace to the world through their musical craft and art...)

Every human across both touring crews was that rare kind of soul — the kind of artist and musician who not only dares to dream those dreams into being within themselves, but also helps call them forth in the lives of the people around them ... 'Tour ‘D Amore’ was infused with dreams and inspired by love from night one.
From Solona Beach's Belly Up Tavern, to Santa Barbara’s Soho Club, to Venice West in LA, we spread little pieces of our own musical magic up the 101 — playing into past and present muscial visions while joyfully stirring that same spark in fellow dream weavers along the way.
Enjoy and few ocean scenes, show photos and B-roll from weekend run below, shot by yours truly, Art Heffron Photography & if you're a Colorado Rocky Mountain loved one, scroll to the bottom to get info on Madeline's Rocky Mountain Pass Through this coming May as her and that sweet crew will be opening for Old Crow Medicine Show at Chautauqua and Mishawaka
Big love to Madeline for another great tour and for last couple years of friendship and inspiration. It's always a true pleasure running crew, shaping visuals, and weaving in a few flute lines each night into your musical brilliance.
Speaking of those flute lines… I’ve included a few videos from my nightly sit-ins with Madeline and Taylor. It was pure magic turning their duo into a little flutey trio for a couple songs each night I got to add some lovely lines to Madeline’s haunting “Long Cold Night,” and we also 'tipped the hat' to both California — where we were touring — and our pal John Craigie, with his song of “I Am California.”
Click each images or gold song titles below to take a listen and a peak...
Every night toward the end of ALO's set, they would bring Madeline up to join them as they ripped and rage on Fleetwood Mac's
Madeline and ALO together was pure magic!
Christine Mcvie was most surely smiling down each night!
Lastly, to my Rocky Mountain music lovers… mark your calendars for the weekend of May 15 - 17th. Madeline and crew will be joining Old Crow Medicine Show
for another weekend run — this time in Colorado — starting at at the Mishawaka, down by gorgeous Pouder river in Bellevue, Colorado. May 15th & ending at Chautauqua in Boulder, Colorado on May 17th.
I can't think of a dreamier bill for both The Mish and Chautauqua, then both Madeline Hawthorne and Old Crow Medicine Show...

I have a feeling I’ll find a number of photographic and musical reasons to be passing through Colorado around mid May as well, with a little Strings & Wood Concerts caravan in tow, flute riding in stride and my Passing Through Art Heffron Photography Portrait lens swinging by my side.
Happy almost Spring and can't wait to see you Rocky Mountain music loving loved ones after the PNW Cherry Blossoms blow. Until then, keep up with all that Madeline is up to on her website.
She just had another great run with Glen Phillips of Toad the Wet Sproket and between now and her run with Old Crow Medicine Show, she'll be running with Pixie Party Grass Boys and The Kitchen Dwellers...follow along at www.madelinehawthorne.com
Lastly, big thanks to Ryan Kirtpartrick of Kirkpatricks Graphics...he was running visuals and crew for ALO, and any photo you see me playing fluting away in, was photographed by his visual wizardry...other than the "I Am California" photo and video, thanks Marisa Merola for sharing your sharp eye and steady hand on that one. Always good vibes running along side other touring visual artist like Ryan & and strolling the Hollywood hills & dancing the Venice West night away with long time soul sister, dream maker & music industry guru like Marisa.
In love and musical beauty, happy trails till next time!
